Officine Fioravanti, a team of tuners from Switzerland who you may know for their earlier Ferrari Testarossa and 512 BB projects, has now decided to turn its attention to the Alfa Romeo 8C. The sports car ditched its problematic sequential gearbox for a nice gated 6MT.
Working with an 8C Competizione, the company outfitted it with carbon-ceramic brakes, electronically adjustable Öhlins suspension, and FIA-certified bucket seats. The car ended up being both lighter and more powerful than the original 8C, although all specific numbers are pending.
In the meantime, it’s worth reminding ourselves that the stock 8C Competizione model features a 4.7-liter V8 tuned to 450 PS (444 hp / 331 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. The engine comes from Ferrari and allows the car to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds. The top speed lies at 290 km/h (181 mph). Alfa Romeo announced the car in 2007 and produced only 1,000 units – 500 coupes and just as many convertibles.
