Daddy Dave’s extreme drag machine crops up on sale for $425k

Back in 2022, visitors of the SEMA show in Las Vegas could feast their eyes on an unhinged drag car with an Audi A5 exterior, built for Dave “Daddy Dave” Comstock. It proceeded to star in North American TV shows Street Outlaws and No Prep Kings and is now up for grabs for $425,000.

Missouri-based Tynan Race Cars carried out the conversion. Most of the bodywork was sourced from a regular Audi A5, the front clip was taken from an RS5, and the entire chassis and drivetrain were redone from scratch. The result was finished in Soul Red, a shade from the Mazda catalog.

Most importantly, the build received an all-new and purpose-built 8.8-liter V8 to drive the rear wheels, meaning that the AWD was scrapped in the process. It was also retrofitted with a three-speed automatic transmission featuring a carbon driveshaft and a titanium bell housing.

We weren’t able to find any reliable launch time or quarter-mile figures to quote here, but the listing claimed that Daddy Dave’s RS5 could hit 322 km/h (200 mph) on a 1/8-mile track.

Why did it go on sale, then? According to the listing, the producer suddenly canceled Street Outlaws mid-season, leaving the unique dragster with no show to star in.
