Audi RS 7 beats RS 7 Performance with some tuning

ABT Sportsline has unveiled a new tuning package for the latest Audi RS 7. It’s called the RS 7-S and sits below the company’s extreme RS7-R offering, but still raises the engine output by 120 horsepower and 150 Newton-meters of torque.

In its stock guise, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 powering the RS 7 delivers up to 600 PS (502 hp / 441 kW) to the wheels and maxes out at 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. The official Performance spec adds just 30 PS (30 hp / 22 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) on top of that. In contrast, the ABT boost kit lets the mill deliver 720 PS (710 hp / 530 kW) and 950 Nm (701 lb-ft) to the wheels.

The company has neglected to mention any sprint times. The stock car needs 3.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph).

The upgrades also include a modified exhaust system with active valves, as well as a suspension kit with new springs and stabilizers. A modest-looking carbon body kit is available as well, as are special 22-inch alloy wheels.

Very little happens in the cabin in comparison. There is “RS 7-S” embroidery on the seat backs, ABT badges on the headrests, new floor mats and a carbon application for the transmission selector. You can also opt for carbon-fiber steering stalks, Alcantara for the steering wheel and carbon trims for the dashboard, but a complete overhaul is something you’d have to ask a different tuner to do.

The complete RS 7-S treatment will cost you a cool €48,900 in Germany, plus €5,940 for installation. The package is covered by a five-year warranty.
