According to BMWBlog citing inside sources, the second generation of the BMW X4 will also be its last. Allegedly, the Bavarian company is getting an all-electric replacement ready for it called iX4. Until that one goes on sale, the buyers will be choosing between the X4 and the smaller X2.
The current BMW X4 generation (in the gallery below) came out in 2018 and received its latest major update in 2021. The next-gen X2 is much more up-to-date and looks like it was designed to phase out the X4 eventually. It has a very similar appearance and is larger than the first generation.
As for the BMW iX4 EV mentioned above, it is expected to be released in 2026 based on the automaker’s Neue Klasse platform.
