Video: Bugatti Bolide hits racetrack

Bugatti has shared a short video from an event that it hosted for all Bolide racecar owners on the famous Circuit Paul Ricard.

Four vehicles each trimmed to a different custom spec participated in what the company called its first public test drive of a racecar. All four owners had passed driving theory exams and completed several several laps in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS before the race.

The new Bugatti Bolide is coming to replace the discontinued Chiron model. It sources its 1,600 PS (1,578 hp / 1,177 kW) from the same W16 engine block, but benefits from various aerodynamic improvements. It also has new exterior design, tweaked suspension, and different electronics.

As a pure track weapon, the Bolide is not street-legal. Only 40 units will be made and sold starting from €4,000,000 each.
