Buick’s stretched Envision Plus SUV remains a five-seater

Buick has complemented its China lineup with a crossover SUV named the Envision Plus, which slots in between the Envision S and the Enclave. You may think a third seat row would be present or at least available, but this is apparently not the case.

Instead, the model corresponds to the Envision S spec in most aspects. It is 54 mm longer at 2,833 mm and has a rear overhang that is 183 mm longer as well, bringing the total body length to 4,845 millimeters. The rear end looks different from before, the rear doors are larger, and the height gains another 64 mm (now 1,695 mm) for a more balanced profile. A radiator grille and a bumper at the front round off the list of updates there.

Like all other recent Buick vehicles, the Envision Plus comes in a top trim version called Avenir – in fact, this is the version shown here. Special additions include a grille, 20-inch wheels, LED Matrix headlights, and an interior trimmed with wood veneer.

Standard equipment includes an infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen display, and you can pay extra for ACC, automatic parking, and HUD.

The 2.0-liter turbo-four mill rated at 237 PS (234 hp / 174 kW) remains in the lineup, but now comes supported by a 48V starter-generator that facilitates acceleration and start. A nine-speed automatic transmission sends the power to either the front or all four wheels.

The novelty will be sold exclusively in China, although the Buick Envision S is also being exported to the marque’s homeland of United States. Prices vary between 34,000 and 40,000 Yuan for the standard version, and the Plus can be expected to come at a hefty premium.
