Check out a hypercar concept with a 2,157-PS V12 from Italy

Giamaro Automobili, a lesser-known car manufacturer from Italy, has announced two projects – Katla and Albor. One of them exists exclusively in 3D renderings right now, while the other one is reportedly gearing up for production.

The green car seen here is the Albor, envisioned as an off-roader with supercar capabilities. It is rumored to have an engine within the wheelbase, lots of ground clearance and a body height surpassing that of many modern SUVs.

In turn, the yellow/black Giamaro Katla is a road-legal hypercar based on a carbon-fiber monocoque cabin weighing as little as 170 kilos (375 lbs). The company expects to be able to keep it under 1,450 kg (3,200 lbs) total.

That’s impressive considering that the Katla runs a custom 7.0-liter V12 designed in the house with four turbochargers neatly tucked into the V-shape. Depending on the settings, the mill can output either 1,670 PS (1,647 hp / 1,128 kW) or 2,157 PS (2,127 hp / 1,586 kW). The company promises to introduce a special “parking mode” capped to 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) for safety reasons. The current transmission is seven-speed manual, but work is underway on an 11-speed DCT. The whole car is 4,701 mm (183.6 inches) long and has 2,750 mm (107.4 inches) between the axles.

Giamaro says it plans to produce up to 30 units per year at a new factory scheduled for construction in Emilia-Romagna, the same region that already houses the industrial facilities of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Pagani. The Katla is slated for launch sometime in 2026, while the Albor off-roader won’t be coming until 2027 or later.
