Late last year, Chevrolet has joined efforts with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) to turn its 2019 Colorado pickup truck into a full-fledged expedition vehicle. Let us review the highlights of the build.
These include a suspension lift (50mm / 2”), 17” alloy wheels clad in meaty 31” Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, Multimatic DSSV shocks, and electronic diff locks on both axles. The suspension wishbones are made of a special kind of forged steel, which according to the manufacturer extends their lifecycle even in extreme off-road conditions.
Other exterior tweaks include lighter, more compact bumpers, flared fenders and robust-looking guard plates covering the bottom and the sides. A snorkel pipe for traversing deep water is optional, and so is a winch.
