Automotive startup Hengchi has revealed the pricing behind its first production car, the Hengchi 5. The crossover SUV will start from 179,000 Yuan ($26,700 USD) and come bundled with a few useful services.
This includes a lifetime warranty for the entire car, including its most expensive element – the traction battery. Two yearly maintenance checks are also part of the deal.
Furthermore, buyers get a free home charging device with free installation, lifetime road assistance and five years of Internet access.

Its electric motor drives the front axle with 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 345 Nm (254 lb-ft) of torque. Accelerating to 100 km/h takes 7.8 seconds. A LiFePo4 battery on board can hold up to 72.8 kilowatt-hours of power, giving the car 602 kilometers (375 miles) of CLTS-rated range.
A look inside reveals two 10.2-inch displays for the driver and the front passenger merged under a single pane of glass. There is also a 14.6-inch infotainment unit, which runs on Baidu OS and supports 5G.
