Check out a unique Datsun 240Z

A 50-year-old Datsun 240Z Super Samuri with what could be called a unique feature combo is up for auction in the UK right now with the bidding at £29,750.

The Super Samuri series was conceived by Spike Anderson, a UK-based car enthusiast who was inspired by the model’s successes in the early 1970s. The name ‘Samuri’ was a deliberate misspelling of ‘Samurai’, a brand name that already existed in Great Britain at the time and could not be taken.

The production run encompassed 77 cars, only three of which were left-hand-drive like this one and only one was automatic – once again, this one. Ordered like this by pro racer Winston ‘Win’ Percy, it came equipped with a 2.8-liter engine outfitted with new cylinder head assembly and carburetors. The power was rated at 190 PS (187 hp / 140 kW). Further modifications included sported-up, adjustable suspension, Wilwood brakes, a different exhaust system, a racing-spec dashboard and an intercom.

A peek inside reveals Corbeau bucket seats and a Sparco quick-release wheel. The car boasts such creature comforts as AC and audio and can be driven on a daily basis, the seller claims.

The mileage is around 9,200 miles (14,800 kilometers).
