Hennessey Performance teased the fans earlier this year by announcing a 1,000-HP upgrade kit for the Dodge Challenger, and here is the first footage showing the result.
The team predictably worked with the range-topping SRT Hellcat Redeye, which doesn’t need any upgrades to churn out crazy 808 PS (797 hp, or 594 kW) along with 959 Nm (707 lb-ft) of torque. This spec additionally received a 2.65-liter Magnuson supercharger, enhanced catalysts and drive belt, a new exhaust system, and a couple other performance-oriented components.
As a result, the muscle car’s actual measured performance jumped up to 1,035 PS (1,021 hp, or 761 kW). The peak torque simultaneously rose to 1,285 Nm (948 lb-ft). Formidable numbers, especially given the Challenger’s rear-wheel drive!
The only prerequisite for unlocking the full potential of the kit is using racing-grade (high-octane) gasoline, Hennessey reports.
