Reports: V8 coming back to Dodge Charger lineup

Stellantis has agreed to put a Hemi V8 under the hood of the next Ram 1500 again, but insiders claim the truck won’t be alone.

Specifically, multiple reports are saying that the next-gen Dodge Charger will also make use of a large-displacement V8 engine. Dodge used to say that the current-generation Charger simply didn’t have enough room at the front end for a V8-sized engine bay. Allegedly, it was designed for the Hurricane-series twin-turbo six-cylinder engine and nothing else.

Well, it now looks like the sales have been dismal enough for the company to reconsider that stance. We will see if the new Charger has enough room for a Hemi next year when it is due.
