Electric ICE: Patak Rodster presents specifications

Slovakia-based niche carmaker Patak Motors is getting ready to begin the production of the Rodster, a vehicle inspired by the automotive industry of the 1920s. It is a two-seat vintage roadster that comes in two flavors – ICE and electric – and starts from €16,900.

The vehicle is legally recognized in Europe as a quadricycle, which implies a relatively simple build and explains the moderate pricing. In its gas-powered version, the Patak Rodster makes do with a single cylinder making 21 horsepower (15 kilowatts) of power. It needs 9 seconds to sprint 0-50 km/h (0-31 mph) and runs out of metaphorical breath at 125 km/h (77.7 mph).

The battery-electric version comes at a €6,000 premium over that. It utilizes a single electric motor on the rear axle with the exact same power rating as the engine mentioned above. The standard battery stores up to 10 kWh of power and yields just 100 km (62 miles) on a charge, but you can pay extra for a bigger battery pack and get 250 km (155 miles) of range. The EV version is also faster on the uptake with a 0-50 km/h sprint time of 7 seconds.

The first deliveries remain scheduled for November 2024.
