BYD subsidiary FangChengBao has come to the ChinaJoy Expo in Shanghai with an off-roader concept inspired by the critically acclaimed Chinese action/RPG Black Myth: Wukong.
The company chose its Ti 3 model a.k.a. Titanium 3 as the starting point. It designed an elaborate body kit for it complete with a more pronounced front bumper, a revised hood with an added air intake and a massive rear wing. The black and gold finish is a stylistic nod to the protagonist of the game, Sun Wukong a.k.a. the Monkey King.
Wider wheels were also installed along with five roof-mounted floodlights for an added bit of rugged aesthetic. Two more lights were integrated into the front fender flares. Although most show cars like this one are based on the top trim, this Ti 3 is actually an entry-level model. Perhaps FangChengBao didn’t need the top trim – it comes bundled with a special roof box housing an aerial drone that the company claims can help the driver navigate challenging off-road terrain. Making the drone relevant in a Black Myth: Wukong setting would be difficult.
The mass-produced FangChengBao Ti 3 has been available in China since this spring. It rides on pure electricity, is advertised as a serious overlanding machine and starts from 139,800 Yuan (~19,500 USD).
