Four dozen Ferraris heading to a Mecum January auction

Mecum will be putting a collection of 46 Ferrari supercars on sale in January 2026. Avid Ferrari collector Phil Bachman, who passed away in August 2025, spent over four decades collecting these and managed to procure quite a few impressive low-mileage examples.

The highlights include a 1975 Ferrari 365 GT4 BB with as little as 443 kilometers (275 miles) under its belt, as well as a 1989 Testarossa with 413 km (256 miles) on the odometer. More recent examples include a pair of F40 coupes made in 1992: one has 734 km (456 miles) on the counter, while the other one has 1,392 km (865 miles).

The least driven car in the entire collection is a LaFerrari Aperta with 154 km (95 miles) on it. The oldest vehicle is a 1953 Ferrari 166 MM/53 Spider, which has amassed 37,300 km (23,177 miles) on its chassis over the years. The rarest special edition is a 2006 Ferrari FXX, one out of only 30 examples in existence.

Being a fan of yellow cars in particular, Bachman ordered 24 out of his 46 Prancing Horses in that exact color. Over time, though, he found it a bit monotonous and started experimenting with accents of red, white, blue and green over the same yellow livery. While choosing what some may consider a Lamborghini color for a Ferrari may seem inappropriate, it gave Bachman’s collection a major touch of uniqueness.

The seller is a foundation belonging to Martha Bachman, the late collector’s widow.
