Bronco seven-seater that Ford never made crops up on sale

The first generation of the Ford Bronco was never offered in four- or five-door variants, but this custom example commissioned from Vintage Broncos (see video) is a remarkable exception. The owner claims it took more than $315,000 to get the 1972 Bronco restored to perfection with a soft top and everything, and the result is now up for auction on Cars&Bids.

The tuner started off by stretching and reinforcing the frame, adding new doors and body panels, and removing the fixed roof in favor of a tube-frame setup that you can drape over when needed.

Power for the exotic off-roader comes from a modern 5.0-liter Coyote V8. A 10-speed automatic transmission carries the momentum to all four wheels via a two-speed transfer case, and while the listing doesn’t mention any figures, we suppose they are in order. TracTive suspension lifts the ride by 60 mm (2.4 inches) compared to stock, six-piston Wilwood brake calipers ensure proper deceleration, and 18-inch wheels deliver the power to the ground without too much effort.

Just as impressive is the interior wrapped in brown leather and upgraded with modern creature comforts like HVAC, premium audio and seven heated seats. Although the work was complete two years ago, this Bronco hasn’t traveled much more than 2,000 km (1,250 miles), so it is being offered as-new.
