With the competition from Dodge temporarily out of the way, Ford has managed to sell 54% more Mustangs in August this year compared to the last one.
3,164 Ford Mustang examples found owners in the last month of the summer, bringing the North American total to 33,817 examples since the beginning of the year. That’s a moderate year-over-year growth of 18% so far, but keep in mind that the Dodge Challenger was still around in the winter and the spring, luring away customers.
With the Challenger out of production and the new Charger not coming out until 2025, the Mustang is the only new muscle car remaining on sale in the United States right now. As such, it is enjoying great sales numbers.
