Over the past few years, Hyundai has mostly been busy refreshing its SUV range, neglecting the lighter vehicles as it did so. The Ioniq and the i30 were the only two models to get some attention. Luckily, everything indicates that the situation is improving.
Car spotters have made photos of what looked like the 2020 facelift version of the Hyundai i10 compact hatchback in southern Spain. As you may see, the vehicle that the company took out for some driving tests looks quite unlike its early prototypes we saw in winter.
To be specific, what we saw back then was the Indian version of the update, while this one has to be the European one. It definitely looks more modern and sporty, is likely a few centimeters wider than the predecessor, and rides lower as well. The front grille now sports a honeycomb pattern.
There is nothing we know about the engine availability just yet. Our stakes are on an assortment of three- and four-cylinder engines culminating in a 1.0-liter T-GDi unit rated at 120 hp (90 kW).
The 2020 Hyundai i10 should premiere late this year or early next year.
