Chip shortage claims its latest victim: Jeep Grand Cherokee L

The elongated L version of the Jeep Grand Cherokee is no longer available with the air-ride suspension system known as Quadra-Lift, and the company will be reimbursing everyone who ordered one.

If you visit Jeep website, chances are you will only be able standard suspension in the configurator menu. Mopar Insiders managed to contact a representative of the company, who confirmed that the option was removed from production due to an acute shortage of electronic components.

The Quadra-Lift offers multiple settings of suspension stiffness and clearance, with an ability to adjust the latter in a range exceeding 10 cm (4 inches). Without it, the Grand Cherokee L will probably have reduced off-road performance due to stricter approach and departure angles.

All customers who had a car ordered with this type of suspension will receive $750 USD as compensation.
