Kia reveals some of the 2022 Sportage engine options

The next-gen Kia Sportage will arrive with at least two wheelbase sizes and motorization options to choose from.

The car is 4,660 mm (15.3 feet) long, 1,865 mm (6.12 ft.) wide and 1,660 mm (5.45 ft.) tall with 2,755 mm (9.04 ft.) between the axles. Rear seat occupants enjoy 1,050 mm (3.44 ft.) of legroom, and the trunk offers 637 liters (22.5 cubic feet) of luggage space.

Power comes from a 1.6-liter petrol turbo rated at 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW) and 264 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque. You can choose between six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT for transmission.

As an alternative, you could go for a 2.0-liter diesel option capable of 183 PS (180 hp / 135 kW) and 416 Nm (307 lb-ft) of torque. This one links to an eight-speed auto. Both come in FWD and AWD variants.

A new present named Terrain Mode enables the suspension to adjust itself quickly to the changing road surface quality. Adaptive shocks are also on the feature list, as are wheels sized from 17 to 19 inches large. Drivers can switch between modes called Comfort, Eco, Smart, and Sport.

Tech features include two 12-inch displays, Harman Kardon audio, wireless gadget charging, and a range of driving aids such as collision prevention, blind spot monitoring, remote parking, and GPS-powered adaptive cruise control.
