There are substantial differences between the Honda CTR, the Stinger GT and the Ford Mustang GT, but nothing you can’t eliminate through tuning, right? Sam CarLegion felt like finding out just that.
The ‘Stang here is a 2017MY example outfitted with improved intake and exhaust components. As a result, its 5.0-liter V8 went up to 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW). The transmission is six-speed manual, and the drive is at the rear axle.
The slightly younger Stinger GT received an overhaul to its 3.3-liter V6 core as well, ending up with 410 PS (404 hp / 302 kW). While not as much as the Mustang delivers to the asphalt, the Stinger effects the delivery with all four wheels, giving it an advantage in traction.
Finally, the Civic Type R is the newest car of the three and comes loaded with mods that drive its output to 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW). The gearbox is six-speed manual, and only the front wheels are driven.
