A 39-year-old Lambo Countach LP500 S is up for grabs in the UK right now, having been disassembled for a thorough overhaul but never pieced back together.
The current owner purchased the car 21 years ago and kept it well maintained. It was even featured on the cover of The Spirit of the Bull, a book dedicated to Lamborghini, and starred in the show Fifth Gear.
In 2004, the twelve-cylinder engine underwent general maintenance, which Lamborghini London confirmed with the corresponding documents. The suspension was also repaired around that time. In 2008, the owner decided to have the body and cabin completely restored, and ordered the car to be taken apart.
The body was primed for painting, but the company responsible for the job suddenly closed down, leaving the car in bits and pieces (see photos). The seller claims he has the necessary windshield and rear wing, among other replacement parts, and will be providing them along with the car to anyone willing to complete the restoration.
With a touch under 62,000 km (38,500 miles) on the odometer, the Countach is expected to go for £145,000 – £180,000.
Back in its time, the LP 500 S version came with a turbocharged engine and a special interior trim. Production was limited to 321 units.
