Range Rover Sport SV gets a 170-PS power bump

German company Manhart is best known for its BMW tuning projects, and as some of you know, some Range Rover models also came equipped with Bavarian engines. After delivering one Sport SV (see video), the company has now tackled another and released all the details.

When it left the factory, this SV spec had 635 PS (626 hp / 467 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal, provided by a 4.4-liter BMW V8. By adding an external ECU, Manhart claims it managed to raise the output to 805 PS (794 hp / 592 kW) and 960 Nm (708 lb-ft) of torque. No acceleration figures were revealed, but even a stock Range rover Sport SV is good for 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) in 3.6 seconds.

Further options for the build include a custom exhaust system, lowering springs and 24-inch wheels. The company claims that the standard carbon-ceramic brakes are “adequate” and suggests keeping them, but those who want their entire SUV redone from scratch are welcome to request a different high-end brake setup.

Unlike most Manhart project cars, this one ditches the tuner’s signature black-and-gold look in favor of some minimal exterior branding. This has been increasingly the case with Manhart, and we must say we like this development. As for the cabin, branded floor mats pretty much sum up the changes there. Of course, if you were to order a Range Rover Sport SV like this, you’d be able to opt for a full interior makeover.
