Chery and Huawei’s Luxeed SUV spotted parked in China

AutoHome has got ahold of several spy shots of the coupe-like Luxeed S9, an electric crossover SUV co-designed between Chery and Huawei.

The front end resembles the young car marque’s first production model, the S7 sedan (shown in the video here). You can spot a LiDAR above the windshield, which is used in its semi-autonomous driving system. The rear end with its slim one-piece taillight also gives off distinct S7 vibes.

The interior is traditional by modern Chinese car standards: even as the digital dash sizes continue to drop, the infotainment display diagonals continue to grow. At the left-hand a-pillar, there is a drowsiness monitor that additionally checks how attentive the driver is and how fit to drive they are. The steering wheel is oval-shaped and has a very thick rim.

The general expectation is that the Luxeed S9 will go on sale with one (RWD) and two (AWD) electric motors to choose from. The former option is expected to have 292 PS (288 hp / 215 kW) and the latter 496 PS (489 hp / 365 kW).
