Stellantis has backed down on its decision to pour €1,500,000,000 into the struggling Maserati brand.
This means the company may no longer be able to refresh its lineup properly, let alone develop new cars. The long-anticipated MC20 Folgore EV is a particular concern, as it may still not be ready for release after years of development.
In 2024, Maserati managed to sell just 11,300 vehicles – not even half as much as the 26,600 vehicles the year before. It may now be in critical condition.
FIM, a trade union movement based in Italy, has contacted Stellantis with a formal inquiry about the marque’s prospects in the group. A meeting has been scheduled on March 11 between union representatives and Stellantis executives. We hope we can learn more about the future of the Maserati brand next Tuesday.
