Mercedes continues trimming down its model lineup, getting rid of compact cars first and foremost. Having taken the axe to the SLC and the S-Class Coupe and Convertible, the manufacturer is getting ready to merge the C- and E-Class in a single car with the CLE badge. One such car was spotted driven on a frozen lake in Scandinavia the other day.
The test vehicle was an AMG 63 spec with a sticker notifying us about it having a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
It is expected that the CLE Coupe will celebrate its debut in late 2023 and the convertible will follow suit next year. The AMG modification will also likely arrive in 2024.
