2026 Mini Countryman EV lineup gains range and sophistication

BMW Group brand Mini has refreshed its Countryman SUV lineup for the current model year. Both the entry-level E spec and the range-topping SE All4 benefit from range and tech improvements.

One of the biggest highlights of the update arrives in the form of a new silicon-carbide invertor designed to minimize power losses. Further power savings are granted by new low-resistance wheel bearings. Last but not least, while the traction battery capacity stays at a nominal 66.5 kilowatt-hours, it now allows drivers to squeeze out an extra 0.6 kWh from the cells without any unwanted side effects.

All in all, these modifications enable the Countryman E with its 204-PS (201-hp / 150-kW) motor to cover 501 kilometers, or 311 miles, per the WLTP standard. That’s a 39-kilometer (24-mile) improvement from the old version.

In turn, the Countryman SE All4 manages to cover 467 km (290 miles) per charge, or 34 km (21 miles) more than before the refresh. That’s a solid result for a dual-motor EV rated at 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW). And if you do run out of charge, topping the battery up from 10 to 80 percent now takes less than 30 minutes.

The 2026 Countryman EV is available for ordering in the UK starting from £33,005. Set aside at least £36,505 if you want the AWD version.
