New Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross coming to Europe

Mitsubishi has decided to update its Eclipse Cross in the Old World countries, but it won’t be designed in the house.

Instead, the next Eclipse Cross will be a purely electric vehicle (BEV) based on the same platform as the Renault Scenic. It is slated for debut in September, and will be joining the company of another rebadged Renault (TBA) in the Mitsubishi Europe portfolio.

The company says that a premium spec called Long Range will start shipping this year, with an entry-level EV planned for the next one.

The current Eclipse Cross generation – which goes hybrid-only in the EU – will stay in production, so the two will be available side-by-side for a while, Mitsubishi adds.
