Mitsuoka, a name closely associated with cute Japanese cars styled after Western automotive classics, has rolled out its latest creation: the M55 RS. Like the regular M55 model that’s been on sale for a few years now, it’s a Honda Civic wearing Dodge Challnger clothes – albeit with a couple of neat twists.
For one, the new “RS” version of the car comes in two exclusive colors, a metallic shade of blue and the iconic Nardo Grey. It also takes advantage of new aftermarket wheels, sporty red accents in the cabin and faux-carbon plastic trims all around.
It’s also worth noting that the base car here is a Civic RS, which is decently equipped with 182 PS (180 hp / 134 kW) at its disposal and a six-speed manual transmission routing the power to the wheels. Orders are already being processed starting from 8,888,000 Japanese Yen, or $55,800 in U.S. dollars. Mitsuoka reckons it can make up to 55 such cars before the end of the year, and will consider making more if there’s enough demand.
