How do you like a Nissan 350Z drift machine powered by two Honda engines?

Eneos has attended this year’s SEMA with a bizarre creation from MLZ Garage, a dramatically modified Nissan 350Z with a Honda K24 engine at the front and another one at the rear. It has twice the normal number of transmissions, too.

The tuners behind the build say they sourced a salvaged 350Z for the project with its rear end smashed to bits for $800 and reckoned it could make a decent drift car. While creating a custom tube-frame for the rear end replacement, they thought it would be badass to add a second engine.

Thus did this 350Z wind up with two Honda K24 mills – one at the front, the other one squeezed in between the cabin and the rear axle. Both are turbocharged, benefit from improved fuel system components and use tweaked Hondata ECUs to coordinate their operation. Each engine links to its own pair of wheels through its own Civic five-speed manual gearbox.

The team behind the project says synchronizing the engines took a great deal of time to do right. The resulting power output has never been mentioned.

Elsewhere, the Frankencar has air-ride suspension, Brambo brakes with 340mm rotors and wide 19-inch wheels that necessitated fabricating a custom set of fender flares first. On the outside, the car has custom doors and a removable carbon-fiber hood, as well as an exoskeleton in the back.
