The Nissan X-Trail is represented on many markets worldwide, and this includes its part-electric AWD version called the e-Power. This is exactly the vehicle the YouTube team of km77.com wanted to test for sudden obstacle evasion.
The X-Trail featured in the video is a year 2023 model powered by a range-extender hybrid system based on a 1.5-liter engine not directly linked to the wheels. It runs on Michelin CrossClimate 2 all-season tires.
The tests have shown that the crossover can only pass the moose test at 74 km/h (46 mph). Any faster, and it starts hitting traffic cones. Even so, the testing crew praised its overall safety and predictability, commenting that the affordable hybrid spec was not designed with agility and high-speed performance in mind.
