Tuned Nissan Z shows up in a video ahead of F&F premiere

Earlier this year, tuning company VeilSide has unveiled its custom Nissan Z destined to star in the next instalment of the Fast and Furious movie saga coming up in 2024. A video has now been published with a more in-depth look at the project.

As some of you must have noticed, the car is heavily influenced by the Mazda RX-7 that appeared on screen in The Fast and the Furious 3: Tokyo Drift. This is by no means a coincidence, because the same team worked on that design, too. The new coupe is dubbed the FFZ400 and wears the same snazzy orange livery with black accents as its predecessor. Even the wheel type is the same: the arches are filled out by VeilSide Andrew Forged rims. This time around, though, the wheels measure 20 inches in diameter and benefit from new variable-height air suspension.

The exterior draws attention to assorted body and aero kit modifications, including both bumpers, the rear diffuser, most of the aerodynamic parts, fenders, side sills and quarterpanels. The exhaust tips are fluted, the front lip looks like something out of drag racing, and the ornament around the windows resembles the forging pattern found on traditional katana blades.

In its stock guise, the Z delivers 406 PS (400 hp / 298 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels. The tuned version is set to receive an ECU tune and a new exhaust system, but the specifics aren’t there yet.
