Reddit tells a story of Pontiac’s last produced car

A thread on Reddit investigates the fate of the last car ever made by Pontiac, a 2010 G6 model (see video). According to the authors, the sedan might no longer exist after getting into an incident several years ago and being sold into Mexico where it was most likely scrapped.

For the first year of its life, the white saloon with a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine under the hood served as a rental vehicle on Hawaii. In mid-2011, it was reportedly acquired by its last U.S. owner. He proceeded to put around 100,000 kilometers (60,000 miles) on it, but got into a traffic incident in 2015 and decided to sell it for scraps instead of restoring. According to The Drive, the selling price ended up as low as $450, less than 3 percent of the original cost.

The fate of the last production Pontiac remains shrouded in mystery since its arrival in Mexico. The odds are high that it was sent under the scrap press or otherwise scavenged for parts, but we may never know for sure.
