The German sports car maker has collaborated with SMEG to design a collection of household appliances, including a fridge and a coffee (not espresso) maker stylized after the Le-Mans-winning Porsche 917 from 55 years ago.
Both items come finished in the company’s iconic Salzburg Red with a white round “starting number” on one side. The number is 23 in another nod to the legendary 917 racer. Sporty black accents round off the design. Only 1970 fridges like this will be made and the same quantity of coffee makers.
In addition to this lineup, Porsche has launched a more wallet-friendly product range including a different fridge, a kettle, a blender and a toaster. All four come finished in Carrara White Metallic with black accents, but you can opt for Shade Green Metallic if you prefer that one. These items are planned for unlimited production. Porsche doesn’t quote any inspirations for them, but we think we can see some 911 GT3 RS design cues in the mix.
