Porsche Tequipment, a subdivision of the German automaker specializing in accessories, has released a tent that you can mount on the roof of your Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, Taycan, and even 911.
The tent is stored in a hard case when not used and adds 56 kilograms (123 lbs) to the weight of the car. Interestingly, the developers found a solution to enable using it with the roof rails installed and without.
Turning your Porsche into a camping vehicle is now as simple as releasing a couple of latches and lifting the cover. The tent will then proceed to raise itself on gas lifts. Also included in the package are an access ladder, a thick mattress and a few windows. The company claims the tent can be used in any weather; future additions to the accessory list will include a heated blanket and an organizer for miscellaneous things.
Pre-orders are already running, but the first deliveries will not be made until November. The list price is €4,980.
