Porsche Cayenne EV Coupe spied testing

Car photographers have nabbed down an all-electric Cayenne Coupe running its pre-production tests and uploaded the photos to Carscoops. According to the publication, the sporty SUV wore an aero package that implied more than 1,100 horsepower under the hood.

On the outside, the coupe-like Cayenne EV stands apart from its more traditionally shaped counterpart with visibly larger brakes and a new rear wing. Other than that, it looks unchanged, but we suspect that the development is still in progress and more modifications are due.

According to Carscoops, it makes sense for the electric newcomer to become Porsche’s new flagship for the Cayenne lineup. As such, it must outperform the current Cayenne Turbo GT with its 1,156 PS (1,140 hp / 850 kW) and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) of torque. That one can also sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in around 2.5 seconds, so the alleged Cayenne Turbo GT Electric Coupe will need to be at least as fast, or even faster.

Last but not least, major modifications are expected in the chassis department. Like any high-end Porsche, the Cayenne Electric Coupe needs to feel like a truly driver-focused car.

The premiere date and pricing are pending.
