Rolls-Royce has reported starting the next stage of tests of its upcoming first electric car. Called the Spectre, it returned from its trip to the Arctic Circle and is now running laps on the Circuit of Miramas, France.
The vehicle will have to cover 625,000 kilometers (388,357 miles) on the racetrack and 2,500,000 km (1,553,428 miles) in total. According to the manufacturer, the wear will be comparable with that of a regular Rolls-Royce car used for four centuries.
To mark the milestone, the British automaker released some new photos of the camouflaged prototype. More interestingly, it revealed some interesting technical details. For one, the Spectre will be the brand’s most aerodynamically shaped vehicle in history with the ratio of just 0.25. Furthermore, its body will be 30 percent more rigid than those of the Ghost, Cullinan and Phantom.
Shipments remain penciled in for late 2023 so far.
