Skoda Enyaq and moose test are the worst combination

Spanish magazine km77.com has put all-electric crossover SUV Skoda Enyaq through a sudden obstacle evasion test and was unpleasantly surprised with the dismal results: the car barely managed 67 km/h (41.6 mph) in its best run.

The test crew used the entry-level specification rated at 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW), which has a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The Enyaq turned out surprisingly prone to skidding, especially in the final phase of the test, where it is supposed to simply return to its designated lane after making an evasive maneuver.

They also found that the stability control system had been trying to restore the position of the car on the road without any success. Interestingly enough, in less extreme driving scenarios, the SUV did not exhibit nearly as much oversteer, so slightly worn tires could have been the culprit.

Even so, the Volkswagen ID.4 based on the same architecture showed 73 km/h (45.4 mph) in the same test. The crew drove a RWD, 204-PS (201-hp / 150-kW) variant of it, and while it also skidded quite a bit, it ended up more manageable in road emergencies.
