Subaru teases next-gen Outback

The all-new Subaru Outback will be unveiled on Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

The reveal event will take place in New York City. The company plans to show us two trim versions – standard and Wilderness. In the meantime, all we have is this lone teaser pic.

Subaru says the new generation will be noticeably larger than the current Outback generation (see video). It will also attain a somewhat unique status in the lineup, because Legacy – its sedan twin – is set to retire soon.

With the Legacy gone, the Outback will no longer be restricted by its light passenger car chassis. As a result, it will finally resemble a traditional SUV more than a high-riding hatchback.
