Suzuki Jimny Long specs leak ahead of launch

After some spy pics showing us the elongated Suzuki Jimny during its pre-production tests, we may now find out more about it thanks to unofficial reports.

It is reported that the new Limny Long will be approximately 35 cm (14 inches) longer than the standard SUV, with 30 cm (12 inches) of added wheelbase. This would result in a car 3.9 meters (12.8 feet) long with 2.55 meters (8.37 ft.) between the axles.

A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine will allegedly go under the hood, producing around 150 PS (148 hp / 118 kW) in tandem with a starter-generator. The regular Jimny makes do with a naturally aspirated mill capable of 102 PS (100 hp / 75 kW) in conjunction with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.

Prices in Japan should start at around 300,000 Yen above the standard Jimny’s 1,793,000 Yen.
