Tesla Semi finally gets a competitor from Ford (or the closest thing to one)

The Ford Trucks division has held a presentation dedicated to the F-Line E, its first fully electric commercial truck. Although some publications have called it a direct rival to the Tesla Semi, it must be clarified that the Semi is a long-haul, heavy-duty freighter, while Ford’s offering sounds better appointed for city delivery services.

In its most basic form, the F-Line E is a rear-wheel-drive truck powered by a 395-PS (390-hp / 291-kW) electric motor and as many as three battery packs. It can carry up to 19 metric tons (42,000 lbs) of cargo and gets up to 250 km (155 miles) of range from its 294 kilowatt-hours of power storage.

A heavy-duty alternative comes with a 530-PS (523-hp / 390-kW) powertrain on board, three axles and 392 kWh of battery capacity. Ford estimates this one at 300 km (186 miles) of range with 27 metric tons (60,000 lbs) of load.

All production will take place in Turkey, with the trucks themselves primarily bound for Europe and the Middle East. Those who don’t need a traditional cargo bay may opt for a bare-chassis version, topping it off with a module of their choice. Shipments will begin in Q2 2026, so we expect all prices to become available around that time.
