Toyota showcases its first mid-size SUV on the e-TNGA chassis

Toyota has shared some details concerning the upcoming electric vehicles utilizing the e-TNGA platform. A mid-size crossover SUV briefly shown in the teaser vid will be the first to make use of the innovative tech.

The car – which still lacks a production name – will be made in Japan and will celebrate its premiere in 2021. According to Andrea Carlucci, Head of Marketing and Product Development at Toyota Europe, it has a “distinctly European design DNA” and will ship overseas as well.

Subaru, which is Toyota’s strategic partner in this project, will be launching its own EV model called Evoltis on the same platform. All in all, the two companies expect to produce six vehicles on the e-TNGA chassis, including a few SUVs, an MPV and a sedan.
