Toyota has unveiled the Crown Sport, a new production car based on the GA-K platform that it insists on calling an SUV although it has all the telltale traits of a classic five-door hatchback.
The model is 4,710 mm (184 inches) long with 2,770 mm (108.2 inches) between the axles, but only 1,560 mm (61 inches) tall. It can be ordered with wheels sized up to 21 inches in diameter and two displays on the dash. The controls inside are mostly physical, the transmission tunnel is rather bulky and there are several trim schemes to choose from.
The new Toyota Crown Sport can be optioned with adaptive shock absorbers for dynamic driving enthusiasts. It also supports a four-wheel steering system known as DRS. There are two hybrid powertrains to choose from, but the specifics remain to be revealed.
