Volkswagen Group of America has announced the premiere of a brand-new SUV model, Taos, on October 13, 2020. The crossover is marketed as a more affordable alternative to the Tiguan.
The company draws attention to the name choice, explaining that Taos is a small town in New Mexico that nonetheless offers plentiful recreation opportunities for tourists, including wilderness trips and hikes, delicious cuisine and studying the famous local anomaly: low-frequency noises of a mysterious origin.
Although Volkswagen had claimed earlier than the Taos would be the closest counterpart of the South American Tarek and the South Korean Tharu models, it looks like it a vehicle with its own character. The teaser pics reveal a different front clip, too.
