Voyah Taishan to start above $60k in China

Chinese premium automaker Voyah has revealed the domestic pricing of its full-size Taishan CUV. According to Sales Director Shao Mingfeng, the vehicle is fit for “dominating” its “market segment” with a starting price close to 450,000 Yuan, or $63,300.

He didn’t specify whether it was the base price or an estimated average transaction price, but AutoHome.cn believes it’s the latter. He added that the Voyah Taishan and the Aito M9 would soon “dominate large six-seat SUV sales in their market segment.”

Sized 5,230 x 2,025 x 1,817 mm (204.3 x 79.1 x 71 inches) large with 3,120 mm (121.9 inches) between the axles, the Taishan is a hybrid vehicle with a 1.5-liter engine and two electric motors. The combined output amounts to 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW). A 63-kWh battery pack yields up to 370 km (230 miles) of all-electric range and up to 1,400 miles (870 miles) in hybrid mode.

Depending on the trim, the luxury SUV will ship with air-ride suspension, rear-wheel steering with the maximum angle of 16 degrees and heated/ventilated/massage-enabled seats with power adjustments. The infotainment system on board uses two displays – one on the dash, the other one on the ceiling – and as many as 32 speakers. The ADAS package also promises to be quite impressive with four LiDARs included by default.
