High-end Xiaomi YU7 EV spotted on the North Loop

Xiaomi has taken the latest-and-greatest version of its YU7 electric crossover to the Nürburgring for some testing. Widened arches, 21-inch wheels, yellow brake calipers and a wrap suggest it’s a big detour from the standard car.

CarNewsChina reports that the name of this performance edition still hasn’t been decided upon. Some speculate that it may be called “YU7 Ultra” in the same manner as the SU7 Ultra sedan before it, while others insist that it will be known as the YU7 GT instead. Xiaomi hasn’t commented yet.

Based on earlier spy shots of the same SUV, it is going to be considerably larger than the standard version and have tinted taillights. That’s about all we know at the moment, though.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra sedan utilizes three electric motors to send 1,548 PS (1,527 hp / 1,140 kW) to the wheels. It accelerates 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 1.98 seconds and comes equipped with a fairly large 93.7-kWh battery pack.
