2025 Toyota Corolla Cross debuts in Japan

After revealing the updated Corolla Cross SUV in Europe and the USA, Toyota has now finally introduced it on the domestic market.

The overall scope of updates is the same, but this is the first time Japan gets a flagship spec known as the GR Sport. It features a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a pair of electric motors driving both axles via a hybrid system called E-Four. The combined output maxes out at 199 PS (196 hp / 146 kW). This version also rides 10 mm (0.4”) lower than standard, has heavy-duty brakes and benefits from additional undercarriage reinforcements.

Prices start from the equivalent of U.S. $19,400 for the standard 2025 Corolla Cross and from $27,300 for the GR Sport.
