Lebanon unveiled its first production car last month – and not just some car, but an EV at that. The Quds Rise may look weird from certain angles and loosely inspired by the Porsche Cayman from certain others, but it is now officially close to production.
The manufacturer claims on the official website that the car needs five seconds to get from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph), and that it maxes out at 165 km/h (102.5 miles per hour). The powertrain consists of a 50-kWh lithium-ion battery, an electric motor rated at 160 PS (158 hp / 118 kW), and a single-gear transmission driving the rear axle. 18-inch forged aluminum wheels with an original spoke pattern put the power to the ground.
The video allows a close peek at the admittedly rather modern-looking interior, including a portrait-oriented 15.9-inch multimedia display, a classical non-digital dash cluster, a sporty steering wheel, and bucket seats.
The body is made of GFRP and mounted on a lightweight aluminum chassis. The driving range on a charge is said to exceed 450 kilometers (280 miles).
Prices should begin as low as $30,000 USD for the base spec.
