Audi Q5L touches down in China

The China-spec Audi Q5 went into its next generation a year and a half ago, and now, the company has complemented the range with a stretched “L” version. It is already available in China and costs the equivalent of U.S. $44,400, an impressive $7,000+ less than the old generation.

The SUV is 4,842 mm long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.66 meters tall with 2,945 mm between the axles – 125 mm (5 inches) more than in the standard spec. Wheels come in a variety of sizes reaching 21 inches in the top trim.

Trim-wise, customers can be looking forward to a two-zone HVAC, three displays on the front panel, heated steering wheel and seats, and a Bang&Olufsen audio system composed of 16 speakers. Every car also comes with preinstalled Huawei ADS services designed to assist drivers especially well on local roads, taking regional rules and limitations in mind.

For the engine, the Q5L still relies on the Q5’s two-liter, turbo four-cylinder engine bundled with a 48V starter. It delivers 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 340 Nm (254 lb-ft) of torque in the base spec and goes up to 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) with 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) in the top spec. A seven-speed DCT is used to drive all four wheels in both cases.
