Bentley Exp 15 previews the brand’s future

Bentley has taken many design liberties with the all-electric Exp 15 Concept.

The vehicle features a large, illuminated faux grille, a frunk and flared rear fenders lending the whole exterior a muscular and aggressive appearance. It wears some lightweight aero parts around the lower body and rides on low-drag wheels. A diffuser and not one, but two active wings round things off at the rear end.

The driver’s side has just one door, while the passenger’s side has two. The interior houses three seats - one at the front and two in the back. The front passenger’s space is taken by a luggage area fitting a couple of compact suitcases or an animal transportation cage. Bentley says it had actually designed these accessories for the concept. The rear left seat is powered by servomotors and can recline to form an improvised bed. It can also move forward and backwards, as well as swivel by 45 degrees to face the door for convenient getting in and out.

A special console with capacitive controls and classic buttons resides between the seats. Activating a dedicated Picnic Mode opens the trunk and slides the console backwards, turning it into an improvised drinks table. The tailgate drops down to reveal two folding picnic seats.

The driver’s part of the interior is typical Bentley fare, but the steering wheel is new and the displays are implemented as sleek see-through glass panels. Any displays not currently in use switch off, revealing natural wood paneling behind them. Physical switches and knobs are available, too.

No technical details have been provided so far. Originally, the Exp 15 was envisioned as a Grand Tourer with four driven wheels, plenty of electric range and rapid charging. The British automaker expects it to reach the market in 2026, but we suppose that the final production car will be significantly simplified compared to the concept.
